The UNDP-Milliman Global Actuarial Initiative

Milliman and the United Nations Development Programme have joined forces to grow the actuarial profession and strengthen safety nets across the globe.

Healthy economies need insurance, and insurance needs actuaries to help quantify risk. But in many developing countries, the actuarial profession is just emerging.

Through this partnership, volunteers travel around the world to meet with universities, insurers, and governments and offer training and mentorship.

Wildfire Science & Technology Commons

The WSTC is a bold initiative designed to accelerate technological innovations for wildfire management and mitigation. WSTC is building a community platform around open data, cutting-edge science, AI, and shared knowledge. Milliman is collaborating with WSTC through their pathfinder projects, leading the multi-phased effort to build a Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Data Commons.

The IDF strives to optimize and extend the use of insurance and related risk-management capabilities to build resilience and protection for vulnerable communities.
