New graphing capabilities in Milliman’s Arius 2.9 offer solutions for data visualization
Seattle—Milliman, Inc., a premier global consulting and actuarial firm, announced today that it has released version 2.9 of Arius®, its state-of-the-art loss reserving system for property and casualty insurers. This is the eleventh major release of new functionality since Arius’ introduction three years ago. This update provides significant enhancements to the system’s graphing capabilities, giving actuaries a number of new analytical capabilities.

Farzana Ismail leads Milliman’s new life consulting team in Malaysia
Singapore—Milliman, Inc., a premier global consulting and actuarial firm, today announced that Farzana Ismail will lead its new life insurance consulting team in Malaysia. The Kuala Lumpur office will offer life insurance, employee benefits, non-life, and health insurance consulting services. Farzana has spent her entire career working as a consultant covering life insurance and family takaful, initially in Milliman’s London office and more recently in Kuala Lumpur. Milliman now employs more than 200 professionals across 12 offices in Asia.

Milliman opens new office in Malaysia
Singapore—Milliman, Inc., a premier global consulting and actuarial firm, today announced that it will open an office in Kuala Lumpur on March 1, 2016. The Kuala Lumpur office will offer employee benefits, life, non-life, and health insurance consulting services. Milliman has two other offices in South East Asia—in Jakarta and in Singapore—and now 12 in total in the Asia-Pacific region.

Milliman releases MG-ALFA® Version 9.0
Seattle—Milliman, Inc., the international firm of consultants and actuaries, today announced the release of Version 9.0 of the MG-ALFA system. This release provides full support for the requirements of VM-20, which is becoming a critical issue for insurers as the regulation moves closer to adoption. This release includes support for all three components of the VM-20 reserve calculation, including the Net Premium Reserve, the Deterministic Reserve, and the Stochastic Reserve. MG-ALFA supports the valuation reserve calculations as well as projected reserves using consistent calculation logic. This consistency enables client companies to confidently project and assess the effects of the new reserve calculations over time, while also meeting the reserve reporting requirements.

U.K.-based Phoenix Group selects Milliman for Actuarial Systems Transformation project

"Having acquired many companies with a variety of actuarial projection systems and models, we sought a provider who can work closely with us to simplify, rationalize, and streamline our processes," said Andy Moss, Phoenix Life finance director.
